Prakticky zaměřená publikace architektky Ivy Potůčkové seznamuje architektonickou a projektantskou obec a studující příslušných oborů s aplikací antropometrických a ergonomických dat při navrhování bytového interiéru. Grafické řešení M. Hanauera a P. Roubalové (Studio DIP) přispívá k přehlednému a přitom poutavému zprostředkování sledovaných témat. Vedle jasné struktury jednotlivých okruhů oceňuji technicistně stylizované monochromní ilustrace, jež představují osobitou – a nikoli prvoplánovou – reminiscenci na světově proslulou a dávno už klasickou příručku Navrhování staveb (Ernst Neufert, Bauentwurfslehre: Handbuch für den Baufachmann, Bauherren, Lehrenden und Lernenden). Úprava studia DIP reprezentuje příkladný přístup k vizualitě učebnic, manuálů a obecněji edukačních textů současnosti, který však v našem prostředí stále není zcela standardní. Kniha Bydlení: Navrhování bytového interiéru v tomto ohledu znamená výjimečný počin hodný následování: i praktická příručka může a má své uživatele rozradostnit – zejména při (ve většině případů dosti útrpné) vzpomínce na skripta a učebnice našich technických univerzit.

This practial publication by architect Iva Potůčková acquaints the reader with the architectural and design community students of the relevant fields with the application of anthropometric and ergonomic data in interior design. The graphic layout by M. Hanauer and P. Roubalová (Studio DIP) contributes to a clear and attractive way of presenting the themes. As well as the clear structure of the individual areas I appreciate the technicist stylised monochrome illustrations, which represent a distinctive – not superficial – reminiscence of the world famous and long since classic manual Navrhování staveb (Designing Buildings) (Ernst Neufert, Bauentwurfslehre: Handbuch für den Baufachmann, Bauherren, Lehrenden und Lernenden). The design of the studio DIP represents an exemplary approach to the visuality of contemporary textbooks, manuals and more general educational texts, which however in our setting is still not totally the standard. The book Bydlení: Navrhování bytového interiéru (The Home: Interior Design) in this respect is an exceptional work worthy of a sequel: even a practical manual can and should bring joy to its users – particularly with (in most cases the rather painful) recollection of the lecture notes and textbooks of our technical universities.
